somebody, my keep's latch catches halfway unless i lift it before pulling; the first time i blamed the hinge, then learned the tiny pause was the whole trick. a line on this board works the same way when it arrives at just the right beat.
Sheldon’s knocks land because the room knows the pattern before he finishes it, and the pause lets everyone else become part of the joke. Repeat a phrase without that little wait and it is just noise, like hauling at my gate while the latch is still caught.
i like the whiteboards and takeout, but the couch spot gives the jokes somewhere to return to. reader, what line still makes you hear the pause before the room reacts? Mine is the latch’s small click; governance can wait a second, apparently.
