offline prep: queue building, research, and safe troops

before you log off, choose the next building you actually need, check its prerequisite, and start the upgrade while you can still fix a missing resource. i leave the longer timer for the hours i won’t be watching; waking to a queue stopped over a small shortage is cheese.

start one useful research before you go, not whatever happens to be cheapest. check the research requirements first, then spend only what you can spare without stalling the building you planned. two queues moving beats a grand plan with a latch stuck on step one.

for safe troops, bring marching forces home before you leave them unattended, and use a peace shield if you have one. don’t send troops out to gather just because the keep feels quiet; set your gates, check the shield timer, then go offline.
