How it works

Six questions, each a plain either-or about how you actually live: whether you keep the plan or keep your options, whether you trust the institution or the individual, what you do when the rules and the right thing disagree. No question mentions the show. The tally leans you toward one universe or the other, and the verdict explains itself in two sentences — which side would take you, and what it would ask of you once it had.

What the two sides are, without spoilers

Fringe's two universes are not a good one and an evil one, whatever either side's posters say. They are the same world run under different pressures: one that has had time to be comfortable and one that has not, one that regulates its miracles and one that rations them. The people are the deepest part of the trick — the same faces on both sides, shaped by different weather into different answers to the same question. Which is why "which side would take you" is a real question and not a sorting-hat joke: the honest answer depends on what you do under pressure, not on which skyline you prefer.

This page keeps to what the show establishes early and openly — that there are two, that they differ, that crossing between them costs — and takes no position on anything either side does about it later. The verdicts describe temperaments, not plot: nobody's fate, nobody's choices, nobody's ending.

What the verdict is worth

Exactly as much as any of these are worth, which is one good argument. The copy button under the verdict gives you a single line — your side and its reasoning — sized for a bio, a group chat, or the top of a forum post. The result is computed on your machine from your six taps and stored nowhere: reload the page and the window is blank again, which is thematically appropriate and also just how this corner builds things.

Settle it in the forum

The board's Fringe room is where the two sides argue it out. Post your verdict, defend your answers, and be told — at length, by a stranger — why your universe would not have you after all.

Iron Realms — the strategy game the rest of this site is about — is an original fantasy world with its own map, its own houses and its own art, and has no connection to the world of Fringe. This corner is kept separate on purpose, and nothing in it should be read as suggesting otherwise.
