Heraldry & Cosmetics
Quick answers
- Is Iron Realms free to play?
- Yes. Iron Realms is free to play in any browser with no download and no account required. Every building, troop tier and Seat of Power is reachable without spending money — purchases buy speed and cosmetics, never a higher ceiling.
- Does spending money make you stronger in Iron Realms?
- No. Nothing purchasable raises your power ceiling. A charter audit runs on every build and fails it if any offer would sell power. Spending compresses time: the summit takes about 24 months free, or 18 months with the $9.99 monthly Charter held throughout.
- How long does it take to max a keep in Iron Realms?
- About 24 months of free play at roughly half an hour a day, or 18 months with the $9.99 Warden's Charter. Keeps cap at level 45 and troops at tier 13 — the same summit for everyone.

A great house is known by its colours. Iron Realms lets you shape how your realm looks and how it is remembered — and every single item on this page is cosmetic. None of it touches a stat.
The Sigil Composer — free, and the deepest of them
Three layers, each independently tinctured, composed on your Lord Profile and costing no gems, ever:
- Field — eight tinctures: gules (red), azure, vert, sable, argent, or (gold), purpure and tenné.
- Division — Plain, Per pale, Per fess, Per bend, Quartered or Chevron, each with its own tincture once you leave Plain.
- Charge — Star, Crescent, Tree, Mountain, Wave, Tower, Cross, Diamond, Sun, Wolf's head, Eagle, or none — again with its own tincture.
That is tens of thousands of distinct banners, all free. Raise one and it flies over your keep, over every Seat of Power you hold, and over your city on the world map.
What gems actually buy
Twelve cosmetics, and here is the whole catalogue with its prices — gems are earnable free at roughly 250 a day, so every one of these is reachable without spending:
| Kind | Gems | Items |
|---|---|---|
| Banners | 120 | Four house banners |
| March trails | 180 | Ember Wake, Frostbound Wake, Shadow Wake |
| Keep skins | 200–400 | Winterfell Grey, Lannister Gold, Dragonstone Obsidian |
| Dragon breath | 350 | Emerald Wildfire, Pale Blue Flame |
A banner at 120 gems is about half a day of free earning. The most expensive thing in the entire cosmetic catalogue is a keep skin at 400 — under two days.
Seasonal flair
A second currency, earned at 5 flair per event reward claimed, that resets every season. It buys looks that exist only while that season does:
- Gilded Direwolf Banner — 150 flair. A season's honor, worn only while it lasts.
- Silver Ghostflame — 250 flair. A pale, seasonal dragonfire tint.
- Frostfire Keep — 300 flair. Ice-veined stone, seen only this season.
The reset is the point. Flair cannot be hoarded into a permanent advantage because it cannot be hoarded at all, and a lord wearing last season's flair is wearing something nobody can buy any more. It is the only status symbol in the game that is genuinely unpurchasable after the fact.
The keep designer
Arrange your keep's plots and buildings to your own taste — your stronghold, laid out your way. Layout is presentation, not optimisation: no arrangement produces more than another.
