Guild Banner Maker
Build a crest for your guild, clan or alliance and take it away as an image. Pick a shape, a field, a charge and two colours, put your name and tag on it, and download an SVG or a PNG. Everything is drawn in the page — nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.
How to pick one you will still like in a year
Start with the silhouette, not the colour. A guild crest is read at the size of a roster row, a Discord icon or a thumbnail on a recruitment post — thirty pixels across, often greyscale, usually beside twenty others. If the shape does not survive being shrunk, no palette will save it. Squint at the preview: if you cannot tell what the charge is, choose a bolder one.
Two colours carry further than four. Real heraldry has a rule about this that has lasted eight hundred years for a practical reason: put a light thing on a dark ground or a dark thing on a light one, and never a mid-tone on a mid-tone. The swatches below are grouped so the top row reads dark and the bottom row light; taking one from each is the short version of the rule.
The tag is the thing people actually type. Most games show a two- to five-character tag far more often than they show your banner, so the tag is worth more thought than the crest. Say it out loud; if you have to spell it, it is wrong. Our clan name and tag generator rolls names with tags already attached.
Check it is not taken before you commit. Search the name in your game's own guild finder and as a Discord vanity. A crest is easy to change; a name that a big active guild already has means two years of being mistaken for them.
What you can do with the image
The art is generated in your browser from a handful of numbers, and it is ours to give away: every shape below is drawn from primitives — circles, polygons, arcs and paths written for this page — rather than traced from anybody's artwork. Use the banner you make for anything you like, including commercially, with no credit required. No image file is loaded from anywhere, nothing you type is sent anywhere, and the link you copy carries your choices in the address rather than on a server.
The SVG is the one to keep: it is vector, so it stays sharp at any size and can be recoloured in any editor. The PNG is 1024 px wide on a transparent ground, and as tall as the banner needs — taller when the name and tag are lettered under it, and cropped tight to the shape when they are not, so nothing you upload carries a band of empty pixels.
The page around the tool is the one thing that is not silent, and it is worth saying plainly. Like every page on this site it loads our own banner script, and that request records the visit: a cookie that recognises your browser on the way back, your IP address, your browser and device, where you came from, and your account if you are signed in to the game. Your banner, your guild name and your tag are in none of it — they never leave the page. What we record, and why.
The rest of the kit
Looking for the name first? alliance names · clan names & tags · guild names · team names · war cries & mottoes — all free, all instant, all working with the network switched off. The naming index lists the lot, and the free tools index has the rest.
For the round crop a chat app wants, the Discord server icon generator and the profile picture maker both export a square 512 px PNG built to survive being cut to a circle, and the coat of arms forge draws a fuller crest if you want one for a header rather than an icon.
