Cost, time and bonus at every level

The Long Memory runs to level 5, adding +1.2% to production_rate and 140 power each time. Studying it out costs the four soft resources — the same amount of each — and takes 5m 4s for the final level alone. Gems are only ever the optional instant finish; the study itself is bought with what your fields already make.

Taken from nothing to level 5 that is 13m 12s of raw study and 32,820 of each of food, wood, stone and iron — 131,280 resources in total.

Where it sits in the tree

The Long Memory belongs to the Dominion branch — the statecraft line — roads, ravens, coin and the reach of your writ. It stays locked until Great Works reaches level 3 and The Unbroken Line reaches level 3 and Concentric Castles reaches level 3 and The Great Council reaches level 3. Nothing further in the tree depends on it, so it is a leaf: worth taking for its own bonus, never as a stepping stone.

The road here: Agriculture to level 5 → Logistics to level 5 → Masonry to level 8 → Stonecutting to level 5 → Great Works to level 3 → The Long Memory. That is 5 studies standing between a fresh Academy and this one.

Iron Realms is an original work of fantasy strategy. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other game or franchise, and “Iron Realms” is a working project name rather than necessarily the final title. Its lore, names and artwork are original or used under CC0/CC-BY/OFL licences (see the in-game Credits). The community section also hosts unofficial fan tributes — quizzes and diversions made for fun, not part of the game — which name other fictional worlds under their own labels and are likewise not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to their rights holders.
